Our feelings are important and should be expressed and shared with someone who cares. You’re not alone in how you feel. Happiness, sadness, anger, love, confusion – we all feel them. Pick a time and place to talk. Make it someplace that you are comfortable. If you have a hard time saying what’s on your mind, write it down. If the other person doesn’t understand right away, explain it a different way and give them time process what you are saying. This is important to you both being ‘on the same page’. Just as you want them to listen to and understand you, be prepared to listen and understand them.
