How do You Cut a Mirror?

To cut a mirror, which is really just glass with a backing on it, you first must protect yourself. Put on those safety glasses and a pair of gloves would be good if you are not used to working with glass. You’ll need a glass cutter which is a fairly inexpensive hand tool and a straight edge. Mark your desired cut and place the straight edge on your line. Take your glass cutter and holding it lightly and upright, score down your line. You should hear a sort of buzzing sound if it is connecting properly. Once scored, if you have a breaking tool, use that to snap it apart, or if not, a light tap should split it. You can also lever it over an edge and snap it apart. Be careful of the edges as they will be rough until you grind them down. For more information look here:
