The first step when cleaning fish is to rinse your fish thoroughly with tap water. You then need to remove the scales, unless your plan to skin your fish. After making a cut from the gills to the vent, you then carefully remove all the innards and rinse the cavity well. Finally, remove the gills using pliers, the cut along each side of the dorsal fin and pull it away using your pliers as well. Lop off the tail, again rinse well, and your fish is ready for the frying pan.
