How do People Celebrate Christmas in Jamaica?

Christmas is a very special time in Jamaica and there are many Christmas decorations, fixing up the house, singing of carols as well as several parties and other functions to attend. On Christmas day, it is a time of big family dinners and feasts and includes a traditional breakfast of ackee and salt fish, baked ham, roasted breadfruit, eggnog, tea and cake. The Christmas dinner include roasted and jerked chicken, roasted turkey, ham, curried goat along with gungo rice and peas and other starches and salads. Sorrel is the main beverage and dessert is topped off with the delicious Christmas cake or pudding. In addition, people do gift exchanges around the Christmas tree to celebrate Christmas in Jamaica.
